- -> years ago. Code is no longer efficient, because the average
- -> machine's horsepower no longer reuires that we write efficient code
- -> -- we just have to write it faster.
-
- From what I have seen on the new AMIGAs, this is not true. The code is
- VERY efficient. One example is the AMIGA-OS. It only takes up .5 MB
- instead of the MANY MB Windoze 95. The AMIGA is fully multi-tasking
- while Windoze 95 only does very minor multi-tasking in comparison.
-
- -> From a strategy standpoint, it's important that the industry NOT
- -> develop the perfect and affordable computer. If they do, no one will
- -> want to upgrade.
-
- Case in point: The AMIGA. Even when CBM liquidated its assests, people
- who had the pleasure of using this machine paid upwards to 2X the
- original price tag to get ahold it. Now that it is now in production
- again (with the new RISC based Power-AMIGA coming out soon) the new
- owners are having a hard time keeping up with the orders. Now THAT in
- incredible. :-)
